Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit HomeCasa (homecasa.ovh), why we collect it, how we protect it and what rights you have. It is written to meet the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, the EU GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

2. What data we collect

  • Technical data: such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and the date and time of your visit. This is recorded automatically in our hosting provider’s server logs.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: used for statistics and advertising, and only with your consent where the law requires it.
  • Contact form data: your name, email address and message.
  • Consent choices: the cookie preferences you set.

We never ask for bank or financial details and we do not need them. Please do not send them to us.

3. Why we use your data and our lawful basis

  • Running and securing the site: displaying pages, preventing abuse and keeping the site safe. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR).
  • Answering your messages: we use contact form data to reply to your question or fix an error you report. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Statistics: we use Google Analytics, through the Google Site Kit plugin, to understand how the site is used and improve it. Lawful basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) and regulation 6 PECR).
  • Advertising: the site shows Google AdSense ads. Advertising cookies are only used after you consent. Lawful basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) and regulation 6 PECR).
  • Keeping a record of your consent: so we can show that we respect your choice. Lawful basis: legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).

4. How long we keep your data

  • Contact form messages: up to 12 months, then deleted.
  • Consent choices: up to 13 months, after which we ask you again.
  • Cookies: for the periods listed in our cookie policy.
  • Server logs: for a limited period, for security purposes only.

Our site is hosted in the European Union. Google may process some data in the United States and other countries. These transfers are covered by the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses (including the UK International Data Transfer Addendum), as applicable.

  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. If you live in the EU, you can contact the data protection authority in your country. We would appreciate the chance to sort out your concern first, so please contact us beforehand if you can.

9. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies, plus statistics and advertising cookies only with your consent. You can change your choice at any time using the Privacy settings link in the footer. Full details are in our cookie policy.

10. Children

HomeCasa is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us their data, please tell us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or the law change. Any update will be published on this page with a new date.
